Talcott Financial Group Celebrates Office Opening in Hartford and Announces Plan to Add Jobs in Connecticut

HARTFORD, Conn., Sept. 28, 2023 – Talcott Financial Group (“Talcott” and “the company”), an international life insurance group and the insurance industry’s trusted partner for comprehensive risk solutions, today announced the official opening of its Connecticut headquarters at the iconic Boat Building at One American Row in downtown Hartford.

To celebrate the opening of its 52,000 square-foot office, Talcott held a ribbon cutting ceremony with Governor Ned Lamont, Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin, and Connecticut Insurance Department Commissioner Andrew N. Mais addressing attendees.

In addition to relocating its office space to downtown Hartford, Talcott is pleased to announce it is receiving support from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) through the JobsCT program. Contingent upon Talcott retaining 389 jobs in Connecticut and creating an additional 51 full-time jobs over the next seven years, the company will receive up to $1.1 million in tax rebates as part of the state’s job incentive program.

“I am pleased to congratulate Talcott on the opening of their new headquarters in downtown Hartford and I applaud the company’s announcement that they plan to expand their employment base here,” Governor Ned Lamont said. “Connecticut continues to be an emerging hub for the insurance industry because of our best-in-thenation workforce and ideal location, and Talcott’s decision to invest and grow here confirms that. I wish Talcott many years of success in Connecticut.”

Talcott is a premier risk partner to the annuity and life insurance marketplace with over $130 billion in assets under management. Talcott is an affiliate of global investment firm Sixth Street, which invests in and offers solutions to companies in the insurance and reinsurance industry through its dedicated insurance affiliates as well as its $26 billion Sixth Street TAO platform. “We are thrilled to call Hartford our new home and to be part of this vibrant city,” said Imran Siddiqui, Talcott Financial Group’s President. “Hartford is one of the premier insurance markets in the U.S., and we are excited to have a footprint here in the state’s capital. We look forward to further growing our business through our partnership with Sixth Street and bolstering our relationship with the state through the creation of new jobs in Connecticut.”

Talcott occupies four floors in the Boat Building and has designed a space tailored for its employees. The light-filled, modern setup offers spacious conference rooms, collaboration areas and huddle spaces equipped with enhanced technology, kitchen cafés on every floor, and a 30-seat boardroom. Talcott partnered with Red Thread, VVA Project & Cost Managers, and CHK Architects to design and outfit the space.

“I have had the distinct honor of watching Talcott grow and succeed over the years,” said Connecticut Insurance Department Commissioner Andrew N.
